DIY Website Workshop

Brought to you by Sarah Crichlow and Karla Fisher

The two of us came together with an idea to help entrepreneurs, small business owners, non-profit organizations, artists and individuals create their own professional websites using the versatile (and FREE) Wordpress platform.

We often meet clients that do not have the budget to pay for a full website buildout.  And the “do-it-yourself” websites (we’re looking at you, Wix, Squarespace and Weebly) can be great for someone just starting out – but they are also very limited in their capabilities, especially as businesses grow.  With this workshop, we will provide the tools and resources you need to create your own modern, high-functioning website that achieves your business goals now and as you grow.

This workshop includes:
  • Workbook to guide you through brand, content planning and launch requirements
  • 1 hour brand/design consultation call prior to workshop
  • Brand style guide and home page design comp
  • Consultation call 1-2 weeks before the workshop to keep you on track
  • Development environment with WordPress and customized theme
  • Two days of hands-on WordPress training to design and layout the content of your website
  • One professional headshot
  • Fully-functional mobile responsive website that you will want to show off
  • Launch assistance
  • A “What’s Next?” roadmap to success!

Good luck, and we can’t wait to see you on workshop day!

– Anyone who is using Facebook as their website
– Anyone using Wix, Weebly, or Squarespace that wants to transition to WordPress
– Anyone intimidated by WordPress
– Business owners, entrepreneurs, hobbyist, artists, writers, non-profit, etc.

Why do I need to complete the workbook?

We encourage all attendees to take their creative research assignment seriously. Prior to attending the workshop you must fully complete your workbook. But don’t worry, whether you are just starting up or you need to revamp your existing website, our team is excited to work with you every step of the way. We are not able to design and launch an amazing website with you if there are missing pieces. Your content is a vital part of the overall design. Note: We recommend at least a month to complete the workbook.
